Onion Tart

The combination of the honey and balsamic vinegar works really good in this recipe. This dish is easy and quick to prepare, and the overall taste is not dominated by the onion.

To prepare Onion Tart, you will need the following ingredients:
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter (unsalted)
  • 250g bacon (diced)
  • 3 large onions (sliced)
  • Salt, pepper
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 3 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • Thyme (fresh, if possible)
  • Puff pastry (store-bought)
And here goes the recipe:
  1. Cut the onions in slices.
  2. Pour the olive oil on the frying pan, add butter, and wait for the butter to melt.
  3. Put the bacon on the frying pan and after a moment, add the onion.
  4. After a while, add salt, pepper, honey, balsamic vinegar, and thyme (fresh, if possible).
  5. Place the puff pastry in the form, use a fork to do some holes in the bottom of the pastry, and put everything from the frying pan in the form.
  6. Onion Tart should stay in the oven preheated to 200°C for approximately 30 minutes (time depends on the over).
  7. Once done, wait for the tart to cool down a bit, add some additional olive oil in top (optional).
